At DuskTrailStation, we recognize that plans may change, and we are committed to providing transparent and equitable refund policies. This document details the conditions that apply to refunds for our yacht rental services.
It is important to review these refund terms thoroughly before booking a yacht. By reserving a yacht with DuskTrailStation, you are agreeing to and accepting these terms for refunds.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule
More than 72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Complete refund excluding administration fees
Processing Time: 5-7 business days
Processing Fee: €50 for transactions via credit card
Conditions: Request must be made in writing either through email or by phone
24-72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Half the total cost of the charter
Processing Time: 7-10 business days
Processing Fee: €25 subtracted from the refund amount
Conditions: A valid cancellation reason is necessary; administrative deductions will be applied
Less than 24 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: No returns will be provided
Exception: Consideration may be given in extreme situations
Alternative: A voucher for a future charter may be offered at the discretion of management
Conditions: Proof is needed for claims of emergencies
Weather-Related Cancellations
Our Weather Guarantee
The safety of our guests is paramount. Should our qualified captain deem the weather conditions unsafe for sailing, we provide several options:
- Full Refund: Issued if rescheduling is not possible
- Reschedule: You can reschedule to another available slot with no additional fee
- Charter Credit: A voucher valid for one year since the original booking date
Weather Assessment Process
Our assessment of weather conditions involves:
- Examining wind speed and direction
- Monitoring sea state and swell height
- Forecasting visibility and precipitation levels
- Paying attention to Coast Guard notices and alerts
- Evaluating safety through the experience of our captain
Decision Timeline: Decisions to cancel due to weather are made at least 4 hours before the charter's departure time.
Medical Emergency Refunds
Emergency Circumstances
We understand unforeseen medical emergencies can happen. Instances that may receive special consideration include:
- Unexpected illness or injury necessitating hospital admission
- Passing of a family member
- Urgent call to military duty
- Essential jury service or legal obligations
- Natural disasters impacting travel
Documentation Requirements
To process a request due to emergency, please submit the following:
- Medical records or confirmation from a hospital
- Death certificate, if that's the case
- Deployment orders from the military
- Document proving your court appointment or jury duty
- Travel safety advisories or emergency alerts
Processing: Refunds due to emergencies are handled within 3-5 business days once all required paperwork is provided.
Operational Cancellations
Mechanical Issues
Should the designated boat encounter mechanical issues that cannot be fixed promptly:
- Replacement Vessel: We'll attempt to offer a yacht of similar specifications
- Full Refund: Granted if there's no alternative vessel available
- Partial Refund: Issued if the replacement yacht's rate is lower
- Compensation: We may offer extra compensation for the inconvenience
Crew Unavailability
In the infrequent event that there's no available certified crew:
- A substitute crew will be sought after if possible
- Full refund will be made if the charter can't occur
- Option to reschedule with no extra fees
Refund Processing
Payment Method
Refunds will be processed back to the original form of payment used to make the reservation:
- Credit Cards: 5-7 business days
- Bank Transfers: 7-10 business days
- Cash/Cheque: 3-5 business days
Processing Fees
Credit Card Transactions
€50 fee for cancellations made over 72 hours beforehand
Bank Transfer Transactions
€25 fee for all refunds processed via bank transfer
Transactions Abroad
Extra charges may be incurred for cross-border transactions
Charter Credits
Issuance of Credits
Credits for future yacht charters may be granted under certain situations instead of a refund:
- Cancellations made at the last minute (under 24 hours)
- Cancellations due to weather concerns
- Voluntary rescheduling by customers
- Disruptions in charter operations
Terms of Credit
- Validity: Credits are valid for 12 months after being issued
- Transferability: Credits cannot be transferred to another person
- Value: Covers the complete value of the charter without any processing charges
- Usage: Can be used for booking any available yacht charter
- Expiration: Must be utilized within the stated 12-month period and no extensions
Partial Service Refunds
Interruption of Services
If your yacht trip is cut short or faces interruptions caused by us:
- Refunds prorated based on the service not used
- Credit for a future charter equivalent in duration and value
- Additional complimentary services or upgrades
Interruptions Due to Guests
Should a charter be ended prematurely because of a guest's behavior or non-compliance with safety regulations:
- No returns for the part not enjoyed
- Payment for the entire booking is expected
- Fines or additional fees may be charged
Dispute Resolution
In case of disputes over a refund decision, one may:
- Ask for a re-evaluation by our administration
- Submit further proof or details
- Consult consumer protection services
- Seek legal solutions in accordance with relevant laws

Step 2: Deliver Particulars
Provide the following with your refund appeal:
- Verification number of your booking
- Details of the charter's scheduled date and time
- Explanation for calling off the reservation
- Relevant supporting papers, if necessary
- Your preferred method for receiving the refund
Step 3: Examination and Completion
Upon receiving your refund request, our team will confirm it within a day, assess it according to our policy, and share the outcome within two days. Refunds granted are processed as per our indicated time periods.
Important Points to Note
- All claims for refunds must be documented and submitted in writing
- Refunds will be managed in €, notwithstanding the currency used for the initial payment
- We highly suggest securing travel insurance
- This policy can be updated, provided a 30-day notice is given
- Refund amounts take into account relevant taxes and regulations
